Notes On A Scandal director Sir Richard Eyre would like to work with some younger Hollywood actresses on his next project, it seems.
The 63-year-old, who teamed up with 72-year-old Dame Judi Dench on his latest movie and for Iris, apparently wants to be offered a film featuring stars such as Scarlett Johansson – aged 22.
“All the work I’ve been approached about lately seems to feature leading roles for older women,” he told the Daily Express.
“I’d actually rather like it if somebody would suggest something involving, say, Scarlett Johansson. She’s wonderful,” he revealed.
“Or why not Claire Danes. She’s a tremendous actress and very underrated, I think.”
Meanwhile he defended Dame Judi, who received a best actress Oscar nomination, for missing the Academy Awards ceremony to have surgery on her knee.
“Surely having a properly functioning knee is much better than having an Oscar?” he said.
