After the fall, then the surprise rise – it looks like Kate Moss might be on the slide again.
That is, many of her lucrative fashion contracts have been quietly cancelled a year after she defied critics with a career comeback.
The supermodel had appeared to ride out revelations about her cocaine abuse – but has now lost seven of her 18 expensive deals.
Three of those that survive are her own-brand lines: clothing for Topshop, a perfume for Coty Inc and a link-up with hairdressing friend James Brown.
Agent Provocateur and Coca Chanel are among those to have dropped Moss, while other firms have opted to use alternative models in their most high-profile ads.
Burberry has thrust 20-year-old Agyness Deyn to the front of their campaigns, while actress Scarlett Johansson now dominates Louis Vutton’s marketing.
Moss, 33, had surprised many by not only holding onto contracts, but setting up more despite the cocaine allegations.
Despite these new setbacks, Campaign magazine’s deputy editor Francesca Newland said: “I see her slightly waning now, but only from a very great height. She is still going to be everywhere.”
