Katie Perry has revealed that Scarlett Johansson was the inspiration behind her hit single I Kissed a Girl.
“I Kissed a Girl was inspired when I opened up a magazine and I saw a picture of Scarlett Johansson,” she tells the latest issue of Steppin’ Out magazine.
“I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, ‘I’m not going to lie – if Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her,” adds the 23-year-old. “I hope you’re okay with that?'”
These days, Katie is in a steady relationship with Travis McCoy, singer with band Gym Class Heroes, who she’s been dating for the past three years.
I Kissed a Girl topped the US charts for seven weeks, launching the California born former gospel singer into the international spotlight. It has also bagged the number one spot in Canada, Australia and the UK.
