Scarlett Johansson has revealed that one her co-stars on Avengers Assemble ‘beat the crap out of’ her during rehearsals for the movie.
The actress, 27, claimed she had to ask them to take it easy on her as they filmed the gruelling fight scene
She told MTV News: ‘All I can say is that I had to fight someone else in this film, and they beat the crap out of me in stunt rehearsals. I have to say I could not believe it.
‘I was like, ‘Can you hold it back, OK? You know, I’m trying to work it out here. I’ve got smaller muscles than you’. I was dragged across the [floor]. When we finally finished that scene I was just happy to be alive.’
The petite star, who plays Black Window in the movie, didn’t mention which of her co-stars it was although the cast features Robert Downey Jnr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L Jackson.
The Marvel superhero movie premiered in the US on Wednesday with Downey Jnr arriving in a $9million Acura luxury car that his character Tony Stark drives.
The film was written and directed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon who told Metro: ‘I believe, very strongly, that most people who love these characters – whether it’s from the movie or from comics – will be extremely pleased; because nobody is left to pasture. This movie is big and there’s room for everyone.’
He added: ‘To have that many talented people should be everybody’s problem. Everybody really shines.’
Avengers Assemble premieres in the UK next Thursday and is released in cinemas here on April 26.
