A new clip from the forthcoming blockbuster Marvel Avengers Assemble sees Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow fighting her way out of trouble.
The forty-second preview sees the actress’ character – aka Russian agent Natasha Romanoff – tied to a chair while she is interrogated by a trio of heavies, including a man in army uniform.
Despite all this she still manages to take a call on her mobile phone from fellow agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg).
He tells her their colleague Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) has been ‘compromised’ – which prompts her to launch a daring escape bid.
However it offers only a taste of the action to come as she sets about seeing off the men armed only with a chair.
The blockbuster brings together several of the Marvel superheroes as they are united by the secret military agency S.H.I.E.L.D to fend off an unseen enemy which is posing a threat to earth.
It sees Robert Downey Jr reprising his role as Iron Man – which he has already played in two standalone movies – while Chris Evans returns to the role of Captain America and Chris Hemsworth will once again play Thor.
Other stars include Mark Ruffalo who joins the cast as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Samuel L Jackson as S.H.I.E.L.D chief Nick Fury.
The film is due for release in the UK on April 26.
