Scarlett Johansson has added to the hysteria surrounding forthcoming film Avengers Assemble by declaring she’s already up for making a sequel.
The film, directed by Joss Whedon and featuring a host of Marvel characters including Iron Man, Captain America and The Hulk, isn’t released until the end of the month but has already attracted a great deal of buzz.
With critics giving the flick rave reviews the question of a sequel is already being asked – and it seems star Scarlett Johansson is already on board.
Revealing that the stars aren’t currently signed on for another film, the 27-year-old, who plays Black Widow in the comic movie, suggested all of the cast are willing to return.
She told Access Hollywood: ‘We hope that we are able to bring these characters back — all of our characters work interchangeably in each other’s movies, but nothing’s on the table yet.’
Co-star Jeremy Renner also hinted there could be a movie based around his character Hawkeye, saying when asked about a possible spin-off: ‘I don’t know. I think there’s always a future for everything in the Marvel world — they like to keep their options open.
‘It’ll be up to fans, I suppose, and Marvel.’
Many of the Avengers Assemble characters have appeared in previous Marvel films in recent years, with Thor, Iron Man and Captain America uniting on screen for the flick, released in the UK on April 26.
