The Irishman, Marriage Story and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood have dominated the nominations for the Golden Globes 2020.
The nominees for the first big movie and TV awards show of the season have been announced, and Marriage Story is the most nominated with six nods.
The Irishman and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood both have five, while The Joker and The Two Popes have four apiece.
Martin Scorsese’s three-hour drama The Irishman received nominations in best supporting actor for Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, best director for Scorsese, best drama and best screenplay.
However, there was no best actor nod for Robert De Niro.
Jennifer Lopez is one step closer to that coveted Oscar nod as she landed a best supporting actress nomination or her role as Ramona in Hustlers.
Sam Mendes’ 1917 has nabbed nods in the best drama, best director and best original score, while Marriage Story sees Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver and Laura Dern nominated for acting, as well as getting nominations for best original score, best screenplay and best drama.
Knives Out has had a good showing, with nominations for best comedy and acting nods for Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas, while Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is up for best comedy or musical, best actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), best supporting actor (Brad Pitt), best screenplay and best director for Quentin Tarantino.
And Joker has snapped up nods for best director (Todd Phillips), best actor (Joaquin Phoenix), best original score and best drama.
In the music side of things, Taylor Swift is up for best original song for Beautiful Ghosts from Cats.
And over on TV, Fleabag has been snapping up the nods, with Phoebe Waller Bridge and Andrew Scott honoured, alongside a nomination for best comedy series.
Chernobyl, The Crown and Netflix’s Unbelievable topped the TV nominations with four apiece, with Barry, Big Little Lies, Fleabag, Fosse/Verdon, The Komisky Method, The Morning Show and Succession.
However, Game Of Thrones was massively snubbed in its final season, with Kit Harington receiving the show’s sole nomination.
The Golden Globes take place on 5 January 2020.
