The 2020 Baftas landed in London on Tuesday as Hollywood A-listers descended on the Royal Albert Hall for this year’s awards, with Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Emilia Clarke and John Boyega leading the charge on the red carpet.
Margot, nominated for two acting awards, looked divine in a long black evening gown with lace decorations on the sleeves.
Scarlett Johansson was a vision in pink, wearing a floor-length gown with a feathered skirt. The front of the dress featured a dramatic, low neckline and was covered in sequins.
Nominee Renee Zellweger also opted for a pink dress, slipping into a structured, off-the-shoulder gown which she teamed with matching shoes and chunky gold bracelets.
Star Wars actor John Boyega turned heads in a beautiful red suit with a white shirt which he wore with black loafers, braving the cold by leaving his socks at home.
Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke flew solo without the rest of her Westeros crew on the night.
The actress, with her dark hair slicked back, shone in a sequinned black dress with a low back.
Charlize Theron, like John, also went for a striking colour for her Baftas outfit.
The actress looked incredible in a purple dress with a wide skirt, which she finished off with a thin black belt around the middle.
She didn’t seem to mind the chilly evening either going from the deep neckline on the dress, but if we looked like Charlize Theron we’d go for something revealing too.
Olivia Colman, star of The Crown, also walked the red carpet in a regal black dress with floral bodice and sheer sleeves.
The British star picked up plenty of awards for her turn as Queen Elizabeth II on the Netflix series.
The gents were bringing it on the red carpet along with John, as the likes of Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Taron Egerton and Hugh Grant got suited and booted for the occasion.
Pacino and De Niro were representing The Irishman which stands to take home plenty of trophies tonight as the drama is up for 10 awards.
Joker is up for the most awards with a huge 11 nominations including best film, best director, adapted screenplay and leading actor for Joaquin Phoenix.
It is shortly followed by The Irishman and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood which picked up 10 nominations apiece.
Sam Mendes World War I epic 1917 scored Nine, after winning the best director of a motion picture Golden Globe on Sunday night.
Meanwhile Margot Robbie has double the chance of taking home the best supporting actress nod, after she was nominated twice for her roles in Bombshell and in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Outstanding British film this year could go to 1917, Bait, For Sama, Rocketman, Sorry We Missed You or The Two Popes.
This year’s Baftas shortlist came under fire when not a single non-white actor was nominated in any of the acting categories yet Robbie was nominated twice in the same one.
