Scarlett Moffatt has opened up about a time she used to call the Samaritans under a fake name when trolls targeted her appearance.
Cruel trolls would make comments about her nose in particular and the 30-year-old would often call the mental health helpline for support.
Under a fake name, Scarlett would chat to them for around 15 minutes.
Scarlett appeared on the White Wine, Question Time podcast and explained: ‘I’d give a fake name and I’d chat for 15 minutes. It really, really did help.
‘I was getting loads of stick. I was like: “It’s the nose I was born with.”‘
When she gets negative comments now, the star simply replies with the Samaritans number.
She said: ‘I think, “God, how must they be feeling to have so much hatred towards someone they have never met?”‘
The Gogglebox star admitted she’s even unfollowed a few people ‘for the time being’ so she could focus on her mental health.
Scarlett then went on to say many people justify their behaviour by saying it comes with the job.
‘Can you imagine working any other job and getting this much hate, the people would get sacked,’ she continued. ‘If I was sat in an office and employees were e-mailing me, “You’re a fat mess. You shouldn’t have the job that you have, what have you done to deserve this?”‘
Scarlett recently took to Instagram to exclaim she’s ‘taking ownership for her body’ and refuses to apologise to anyone who thinks her looks ‘aren’t good enough’.
The TV personality took to Instagram to share a selfie sporting a t-shirt from her fashion collection with Peacocks, which read ‘Boss Lady’.
‘2020 is the year I feel like a boss & I’m not afraid to say it,’ she wrote.
‘I’m taking ownership for my body and not apologising to anyone who thinks my looks aren’t “good enough for them”, that’s why I added this boss lady tee to my edit with @peacocks_fashion.’
