She’s taken on some demanding roles in her time – but actress Scarlett Johansson may be about to face her biggest challenge yet.
The former Oscar nominee has been snapped up to become the ‘global ambassador’ for homemade fizzy drinks giant SodaStream – and will make her debut in an advert due to air during the Superbowl on February 2.
According to reports the ad, due to be shown on US TV during the fourth quarter of the match, will see the actress demonstrating the product, which allows users to make soda in the comfort of their own kitchen.
The company’s chief executive Daniel Birnbaum told the New York Times the aim of the ad was to ‘demonstrate how sexy it is to make your own soda’.
He added that Johansson was already a fan of Soda Stream, explaining: ‘The campaign is more of a love story between a brand with a purpose and a passionate user.’
The actress is due to return to cinemas – sort of – in Spike Jonze’s Her, in which she plays the voice of a Siri-like computer program who becomes the object of Joaquin Phoenix’s affections.
