A new spoof trailer for Spike Jonze’s new romantic drama Her has emereged online with Philip Seymour Hoffman taking over from Scarlett Johansson as an OS who falls for its lonely owner.
Unsurprisingly, Seymour Hoffman isn’t as seductive as Johansson especially when his choice quotes have been lifted from films like The Master and Happiness in the video, which was created by Richard Trammell.
Her is up for a best picture gong at the Oscars and follows the futuristic love story between a lonely writer (Joaquin Phoenix) and his Siri-like artificially intelligent operating system.
Johansson actually replaced Samantha Morton in the role after the British actress had completed initial filming.
Jonze explained his decision in a letter to Vulture saying: ‘I think, unfortunately, it’s pretty normal in terms of my not-quite-painless-for-everyone-involved ‘process’ of discovering what the movie is.
‘Samantha was with us on set and was amazing. It was only in post production, when we started editing, that we realized that what the character/movie needed was different from what Samantha and I had created together. So we recast and since then Scarlett has taken over that role.’
Her is out in UK cinemas on February 14.
